Betsy's Blast
FCS Visual Art Newsletter: March 2018
March is Youth Art Month
I know it has been an awkward start to second semester with days lost due to snow, PL day changes, current events in our schools across the nation & POOF!
All of a sudden March and Youth Art Month (YAM) is here!
And I know that YAM is a VERY busy time for all of you.
There are so many events and exhibits and showcases of student work happening this month. To be able to document how Fulton County Celebrates YAM please follow this link to tell me what you are doing at your school or in your community for YAM. We can share with the rest of the state. 2018 Fulton County Youth Art Month Happenings
And speaking of student opportunities, consider having your students participate in the Kennesaw State University School of Art Spring Fling Saturday, April 14th! ! K-12 students can participate in a pin up show! AND there is a category for artists with special needs!
Again, please help me promote the arts and your programs by letting me know all the wonderful things you and your students are doing.
Also I am excited to announce that I will provide registration costs to the HIGH Museum Teacher Institute Monday, June 4th as well as registration costs for teachers to attend the Woodruff Arts Centers Educator Conference June 5-7. I am encouraging teams of teachers ( general ed. and arts ) to attend the Educator Conference. Follow this link if you are interested in one or both of these PL opportunities.
Also keeping the curriculum link right here Here is the link. We are kicking off our Learning Architect Training on March 29th. Stay tuned for details.
And of course, in FCS we continue to deliver quality arts education using our current curriculum.
