14 December 2007 - 11:43pmYay for break

, , ,

I’m writing this post from my bedroom… looking forward to a good night’s sleep in my bed. :) Arrived home safely today around 1 and am very happy to be finished with school for a couple weeks.

Thought I’d update you all with an addition to the things to do list for break. Some of us from COSI have decided to participate in the Google Android Contest. We have a few pretty sweet ideas and work is to start over break with the hopes of having a basic prototype done by the start of the semester. If you’ve never heard of it, check out the site to see what it’s about. Should be a lot of fun.

Anyway, it’s late and I’m tired.

15 September 2007 - 10:12pmI love my own bed.

What a sweet thing it is to sleep in your own bed. :)

Since I wasn’t able to be at school today for the festivities surrounding Software Freedom Day 2007, I thought I’d post an article for everyone who’s heard of Linux but never given it a try.

Software Freedom Day is a day devoted to spreading the good news of the free and open source software alternatives that exist to replace many of the more popular (and often much more expensive) applications we all use on a daily basis. The Linux kernel, combined with a wealth of awesome open source software packages, provides many computer users with a completely free alternative for their everyday computing. The article I linked to above is a step by step guide to installing one of the most popular Linux distributions, Ubuntu, on a computer that already runs Windows. When you’re finished, you have one system that is capable of booting Windows or Ubuntu… giving you the ability to try out Linux, without completely wiping Windows.

14 September 2007 - 6:22pmThis one looks good

After checking out 5 or 6 different themes, I settled on this one. I also played with the font style for a while and you’re currently looking at Trebuchet MS (unless you don’t have it, in which case you’re looking at Tahoma or Arial).

I drove home from school today to visit for the weekend. I’m looking forward to a relaxing weekend with my family, sleeping in my own bed :) .

And I get to see my babe<3. Probably not a lot, but a little is better than nothing.
